The LightSheer diode laser is the gold standard that is specially designed to remove unwanted hair faster and with less discomfort. We have the answers to the most frequently asked questions regarding laser hair removal:
How does it work?
The laser produced a beam of highly concentrated light. The light emitted by the LightSheer diode laser is well absorbed by the pigment located in the hair follicles. During the procedure the laser pulses for a fraction of a second, long enough to heat up the hair and significantly impede the follicle’s ability to re-grow.
Who can be treated?
The LightSheer is safe and effective on most skin types.
What are the benefits?
Shaving, waxing, tweezing and dipilatories were usual remedies used in the past for removing unwanted hair. Some are painful, messy and all are only temporary. Laser hair removal offers a more permanent solution to removing unwanted hair.
What does it feel like?
Most patients tolerate the procedure well. The hand piece cools as it glides along your skin. Some patients feel a mild stinging sensation as the energy is delivered into the skin. Some patients prefer to use a topical anesthetic cream for the more sensitive areas.
How many treatments?
Every patient is different. In general, light skin will require 5 to 6 treatments and darker skin will require 5 to 8 treatments. They are spaced approximately 4 to 6 weeks apart to achieve satisfactory results.
Are there any side effects?
After laser hair removal, the treated site may feel like a mild sunburn for up to 2 hours. It is normal to experience mild redness and swelling surrounding the hair follicles. This is a good indication that a patient responded well to the treatment. It is rare to have blistering or skin discoloration with this treatment.
If you are uncomfortable or embarrassed by unwanted hair on your face, neck and body consider the state of the art LightSheer diode laser technology.
