Welcome to the office of Dr. Douglas J. Mackenzie, one of the preeminent cosmetic surgery practices in the Santa Barbara region. We offer a wealth of cosmetic surgery procedures including breast augmentation, breast lift, tummy tuck, liposuction, blepharoplasty, face lift, and breast reduction, laser and intense pulse light therapy (including laser hair removal), and injectables such as BOTOX® Cosmetic injections. So whether you are seeking a firm, toned physique, trimmer thighs, or facial balance, we have a solution.
Dr. Mackenzie also performs reconstructive surgery to restore form and function following injury or previous surgery. This may include breast reconstruction following mastectomy, hand surgery, or repair of facial trauma.
Here, our top priorities are our patients' safety, comfort, and satisfaction. Our friendly, extensively trained Santa Barbara office staff is committed to helping you achieve and maintain the aesthetic results you desire.
Our level of customer service is second to none. Whatever your questions or concerns, we will address them so that you feel comfortable, welcomed, and, most importantly, informed. Dr. Mackenzie will also be on hand to walk you through the steps before you make your final decision. Advanced computer imaging is available to let you see what kind of results you can expect.
Dr. Mackenzie performs most of his procedures on-site at South Coast Surgery Center, furnished with state-of-the-art equipment and a staff of certified anesthesiologists. Rest assured that you will be in the hands of well trained, caring physicians and nurses. Dr. Douglas J. Mackenzie only uses board certified anesthesiologists for his patients during their surgical procedures. Patients can relax knowing that they are in the hands of specialists to ensure a safe environment during their surgical procedures. After your cosmetic surgery is complete, we go above and beyond traditional postoperative care. We are one of the few practices to use alternative methods as well. Our breast augmentation patients experience decreased postoperative discomfort because we offer a safe, convenient, portable pain pump, which is placed during surgery. This offers a dramatic reduction in postoperative pain. In addition, we offer a homeopathic nutritional supplement program, which includes Arnica and Bromelain (a pineapple enzyme). These nutrients have been recognized for their ability to reduce bruising and swelling.
Out of Town Patients
Our office is experienced in accommodating patients that have traveled from the East coast and Europe for their surgery, so even if you're only coming from Los Angeles or San Luis Obispo, we'll be able to make the experience as easy as possible.
By e-mailing your photos to us, Dr. Mackenzie can do a "pre-consult" to give you an idea what plastic surgery results may offer you. After your telephone consultation, arrangements can often be made for the necessary "face to face" appointment, followed by surgery within a short period of time. The type of procedure you will have will dictate what sort of follow-up you will need, the length of time you will need to stay in Santa Barbara, and when/if you will need to return to Santa Barbara for a follow-up visit.
If you live within a couple hours' drive from Santa Barbara, you can return home after most plastic surgery procedures, or you can choose to stay overnight in Santa Barbara and recuperate in a relaxing environment. We have special pricing through The Upham Hotel and the Bacara Resort for our out of town patients.
Dr. Mackenzie will certainly want to see you back for your follow-up appointment, but we can arrange for post-operative care with a surgeon in your area if necessary. Your follow-up with Dr. Mackenzie can then be scheduled when you are able to return to Santa Barbara.
Traveling, particularly via the airlines, can be stressful and unpredictable. Recovery after your cosmetic surgery procedure depends on the type of surgery you have, as well as a myriad of other issues, and so you should discuss your travel plans in detail with Dr. Mackenzie prior to your procedure. He will only perform your surgery if he can fully evaluate you beforehand, and if travel after surgery will not compromise your safety or your result.
Our practice is happy to offer financing through Care Credit and Chase Health Advance. Both of these companies can provide you credit lines with monthly payments to fit almost every budget. You can fill out patient applications on line at www.carecredit.com, or www.chasehealthadvance.com to receive an immediate decision regarding credit approval. You will receive a credit limit along with an account number that can be used for your surgery costs.
