Jessica Barker, PA-C
Jessica is a physician assistant (PA) who joined Dr. Mackenzie´s practice in 2005. A physician assistant is a health care professional licensed to practice medicine under the supervision of a doctor. Jessica received her Bachelor of Arts in Biological Sciences from the University of California – Santa Barbara. She completed her Masters in Physician Assistant studies at the University of Iowa Medical School. Jessica has been a practicing PA-C in California since 1999. She initially worked in Neurology in San Diego. She was instrumental in developing and implementing a group-model of care for patients with Headache and Dementia. She had an active involvement in research, serving as a co-investigator on multiple projects. The majority of her research focused on the use of BOTOX® in preventing headaches. Her practice with BOTOX® for headache prevention provoked an interest in its cosmetic uses. Jessica also received a board certification in Anti-Aging Medicine in 2006.
Upon relocating to Santa Barbara, she transitioned to working in Cosmetic Dermatology and Plastic Surgery. Jessica´s education and training allow her to provide a broad range of medical and surgical services to Dr. Mackenzie´s practice. These services include administering BOTOX®, Juvederm and Radiesse injections, performing IPL and laser treatments for hair removal, sun spots and spider veins, providing pre and post operative care and assisting Dr. Mackenzie with surgery.
Sara Chaidez, LE
Sara is a Licensed Esthetician and has been working as a medical esthetician for eight years. A native of Santa Barbara, she has been in the skin care industry for ten years. After attending Joe Blasco MakeUp Artistry school in Los Angeles, she attended Santa Barbara City College Cosmetology Academy, and received her license. Sara’s specialties include microplane facials, Intraceutical oxygen facials, chemical peels, and acne facials.
Hayley Mabery, RN
Amanda Diaz – Aesthetic Coordinator
You will likely talk to Amanda on the phone before your first visit, she is one of the first friendly faces that will greet you at your consultation. With over 15 years of experience in plastic surgery, Amanda has thorough and extensive knowledge regarding plastic surgery and non-surgical aesthetic treatments. She is dedicated to ensuring patients feel informed and comfortable. As an aesthetic coordinator, Amanda will assist in scheduling and answering any questions before and after your consult. She also can provide information regarding financing. The warmth and compassion that patients love about our office begins with Amanda. She is always there for any need a patient may have.
Pamela Sillix – Business Administrator
Pamela Sillix fills the role of Business Administrator at Pacific Plastic Surgery, working directly with Dr. Mackenzie, his dynamic team, and various practice associates and vendors.
In addition to her Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration and professional designations in the field of Brokerage Management, Pamela has an extensive medical practice management background as Vice President and Controller of an orthopedic surgery practice in her home state of Colorado. She also served as chairman of the legislative committee of the Mesa County Colorado Medical Society Alliance and was a medical industry advisor on a U.S. Representative’s political advisory committee.
After relocating to Santa Barbara from Colorado, Pamela became active with The Breast Cancer Resource Center nonprofit organization and served as Vice President and a two term Board Member as well as chairing its finance and fundraising committees. She has been with Pacific Plastic Surgery since 2010.
Heather Grieco, RN
Heather has been a registered nurse for over 10 years. She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Madonna University in Livonia, Michigan. Heather started her nursing career in Pediatric Medicine. She worked in a high level teaching hospital, where she quickly gained vast knowledge in the field of pediatrics. During this time, she specialized in the care and management of complex pediatric hematology oncology and pediatric emergency and urgent care patients.
After relocating to the Santa Barbara area almost six years ago, she became interested in aesthetic dermatology. She was privileged to learn from the leaders in the field of Dermatology and Plastic Surgery. Heather has extensive training in BOTOX cosmetic, dermal fillers, fractional resurfacing lasers, intense pulse light, laser hair removal and medical grade skin care.
Heather has the privilege to work for Medicis Aesthetics as a Clinical Nurse Trainer. Currently, she is the only Medicis Aesthetic Trainer in Santa Barbara and the Central Coast. As a trainer, Heather teaches physicians and registered nurses proper injection techniques for Dysport, Restylane, and Perlane.
Heather is professionally and personally committed to the art and science of cosmetic rejuvenation. She is passionate about educating clients about their skin and recommending personalized treatments and products. Her goal is to exceed clients’ expectations at every level.
