Choose the injectable that treats moderate to severe cellulite in the buttocks of adult women. At Pacific Plastic Surgery we’re always looking for the latest aesthetic treatments to offer our patients. That’s why we’re so excited to announce that a non-surgical injectable for cellulite is now here—Qwo® (collagenase clostridium histolyticum-aaes)!
What is Qwo® ?
Qwo® is the first and only FDA approved injectable treatment for cellulite. This is a non surgical treatment that focuses specifically on the dimples caused by fat.
How does Qwo® work?
Enzymes called collagenases target the structural causes under the skin, where cellulite starts. It’s thought that Qwo® works by releasing fibrous bands, redistributing fat cells, and stimulating the growth of new collagen.
Where can I have Qwo® injected?
Qwo® injections have been FDA-approved to treat dimples aka cellulite on the buttocks. Other common areas patients report cellulite are the back of the thighs.
What can I expect during the Qwo® procedure?
The process for Qwo® is quick and painless and can be done in a short period. The target area is first identified followed by the injection process. There is no anesthesia or numbing required. There is no downtime after the procedure.
What does the recovery process look like?
Patients typically have bruising that can last one to two weeks after the first treatment. Patients report mild to moderate soreness alleviated with Tylenol or ibuprofen. There is mild to moderate swelling for the first few days, as well.
When can I expect to see the results from my Qwo® injections?
Patents may see an improvement as early as three weeks after their injections. However, the improvement continues, and most patients require a series of three treatments for full results.
