Botox Cosmetic Injections – Pacific Plastic Surgery in Santa Barbara has both Dysport and Botox
For patients who have fine lines, wrinkles, or deeper furrows in the skin of their face, the BOTOX™ Cosmetic, Dysport, and Xeomin injections offered at our Santa Barbara practice are a convenient, quick, non-surgical method of softening facial lines through neuromodulation.
Botox is one of the most reliable and common cosmetic procedures done, with a satisfaction rate that is unparalleled. For some patients, Botox (or a similar neuromodulator) offers a way to step into the realm of aesthetic medicine with little cost or downtime. Office procedures like these are alternatives to more extensive procedures such as a face lift or blepharoplasty, but their effects, recovery, and cost are, of course, much different.
Botox injections are done in our Santa Barbara office and take a very short amount of time. Botox, Dysport, and Xeomin are neuromodulators which, when injected into the facial tissue, relax the muscles under the injection site. Tightening of the muscles contributes to facial wrinkles, and when they are relaxed by the action of the neuromodulator, wrinkles are smoothed and the area takes on a younger appearance. Even some young patients in their 20s may benefit from “Prejuvenation” using Botox, as preventing or toning down some of the action of certain facial muscles may help prevent wrinkles from forming in the future.
The effects of Botox injections can last up to three or four months, and occasionally longer. Since although neuromodulators act to soften wrinkles by relaxing the muscle but don’t “fill in” depressed areas or wrinkles that are deep, we often combine them with a filler, such as Juvederm, Voluma, or Radiesse.
Sometimes, a more permanent and extensive facial rejuvenation requires surgical procedures like a facelift or eyelid surgery. However, neuromodulators act on the dynamic action of the muscles, where surgery does not. Therefore, most patients continue their use of neuromodulators even after facial rejuvenation surgery.
If you think a neuromodulator like Dysport, Xeomin, or Botox sounds like an option for you, don’t hesitate to contact our Santa Barbara office for more information. Take the first steps toward a younger-looking face today.
You may also want to consider BOTOX™ as an effective treatment for axillary hyperhidrosis. The effect typically lasts for 9 months or more. This is an easy procedure that takes only a few minutes in the office, and uses from 75 to 100 units of BOTOX™ to treat both armpits. A minimally invasive laser treatment is another option, using the Precision Tx™ bi-directional laser.
