A brow lift at Pacific Plastic Surgery in Santa Barbara is designed to lift hanging skin above the eyes, giving the patient a more youthful and rejuvenated appearance. Dr. Douglas Mackenzie often performs a blow lift endoscopically so that the patients have very little scarring.
Brow lifting procedure is a common procedure that is done to not just raise the brows but also to kind of open up the whole eye area. The whole idea of brow lifting is in my mind somewhat of a misnomer. We want to raise the brows a little bit, but not too much. The last thing we want is that deer in the headlights kind of look because that certainly is not youthful. As far as how we do it, we usually are doing it endoscopically. We need a couple of small incisions in the scalp. I can sometimes do it through the upper eyelid incision during a blepharoplasty. The effect is to smooth the forehead, raise the brows a little bit, rejuvenate the eye area.
